This is a fantastical creation from Bard’s consciousness—a mystical creature that dwells deep within his mind.
No. 07 carries an indescribable energy; its very existence, devoid of purpose, exudes a powerful allure.
The sculptural form alone conveys this energy, but when I translated Bard’s written description into a painting, I truly grasped the astonishing depth of his imagination—a moth clinging to a vine, yet fused with the streamlined body of a devil ray and the eerie beauty of an orchid. When the wind rustles the vines, the entire scene sways as if drifting slowly through the depths of the ocean.
Even with a physical form, I haven’t fully captured the true essence of his mental image. Instead, I chose to reconstruct this creature based on his artistic vision. The result was, once again, breathtaking—the moment the painting took shape, I couldn’t help but gasp in awe.
The forms of creatures crafted by the Creator have clearly given him infinite inspiration. Recently, while studying Ōmori Akio, I noticed they both attempt to harness the hand of natural evolution to conjure phantasmal species that should exist in the crevices of our world.
Funny enough, this resonance in creative philosophy is, in itself, another marvelous coincidence.
