岩彩，是中國的佛教繪畫藝術和建築裝飾中常⽤的顏料， 更加是記載着歷史⽂明的藝術傳承。在⽔墨畫流⾏之前，岩彩繪畫是中國繪畫的主流，並直接影響今天的⽇本繪畫。 當中最著名的，就必須提及到中國敦煌⽯窟內的璧畫，便是利⽤岩彩來繪畫的。

Mineral pigments were widely used in Chinese Buddhist painting and architectural decoration, serving as an artistic legacy of civilization. Before ink wash painting rose to prominence, mineral-pigment painting was the mainstream of Chinese art and profoundly influenced modern Japanese painting.

The most famous example is the Dunhuang Caves 
murals, all painted with mineral pigments.This exhibition is made possible through the generous support and collaboration of many 
organizations. It offers the public a rare chance to appreciate the beauty of mineral pigment art up close.
